Rapid prototyping reduces time to market

In-house rapid prototyping is a competitive advantage. Touch, feel and evaluate product prototypes to make product decisions faster and more effectively. Eclipse makes this possible.

Eclipse recently acquired an FDM machine, which allows us to build rapid prototypes on site using ABS plastic. This lets us make prototypes parts faster, cutting development times significantly. Not only does having this capability in-house keep prototype costs down, but it also helps keep your product confidential.

We can also make parts for you, send us your 3D CAD files and we will give you a quote for making your parts.

Fused Deposition Modelling

FDM is a layered manufacturing method that extrudes a thin bead of plastic, 0.010" thick, one layer at a time. A thread of plastic is fed into an extrusion head, where it is heated into a semi-liquid state and extruded through a very small hole onto the previous layer of material. Support material is also laid down in a similar manner allowing complex shapes to be made.

FDM parts are structually much stronger than SLA (Stereolithography) parts and can be used for limited production runs and testing.
